Invisalign is a technology that enables teeth straightening WITHOUT the need of braces.

It uses a proprietary software to create a series of custom-made, removable clear aligners that gradually move your teeth to an ideal position.

Whether you’re looking into getting braces or invisalign, our office offers a complimentary evaluation to determine if you’re a good candidate for orthodontics.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening has become very popular in recent years.

There are a wide array of commercially available products. Most whitening products use hydrogen peroxide in various concentrations. But hydrogen peroxide in high concentration is corrosive and can irritate your skin and gums, and so over-the-counter products must have lower concentrations than in-office teeth whitening systems.

Not everyone is a good candidate for teeth whitening. Due to the corrosive nature of peroxide, you need to make sure you don’t have any cavities, leaking restorations, cracks or exposed root surfaces, as it may cause pain and irreversible damage.

(Teeth whitening products do not have an effect on fillings, crowns or other restorative materials.)

We offer free screening to help you determine the teeth whitening system that matches your individual needs. Call us at (626)810-5000 to schedule your FREE consultation.

And get the whitest teeth you possibly can.

Zoom II

Safe, Long-Lasting Teeth Stain Removal

The treatment consists of:

Four sessions of 15 minutes with a lamp designed to speed up and complete the treatment in 1 hour.

The treatment does not affect the enamel because it does not break through the enamel. It breaks through the yellow color to remove stains and bring tooth back to its regular color.

In order to achieve maximum effectiveness and patient comfort, the gel has been reformulated to help prevent tooth sensitivity and increase enamel luster.

Researchers from Loma Linda University CA, conducted a research to determine if the enamel of the tooth was affected in any way by the whitening. Their conclusion was that “under conditions of the study, treatment with Zoom 2 gel following the manufacture’s instruction does not adversely affect the micro-hardness (strength of tooth) and surface morphology (tooth surface) of human enamel.”

Researchers also found that Zoom 2 has 73% less transient tooth sensitivity than the original Zoom.

Cavities, Fillings - Composite White Fillings

Composite Fillings are also known as “white fillings”.

Composite fillings are a mixture of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium that produces a tooth-colored filling. They are sometimes referred to as composites or filled resins.

Composite fillings provide good durability and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that need to withstand moderate chewing pressure.

Composites have huge advantages over silver fillings. Since silver does not stick to teeth, entirely healthy tooth structure is usually removed to keep a silver filling in place.

Composites permit your cosmetic dentist to remove only the decayed area of your tooth. Unlike silver fillings, composite fillings expand just like your teeth and are much less likely to cause cracks in your tooth.

Also amalgam/ silver fillings last about seven years, while composites last about seven to eleven years.

Dental Hygiene

When it comes to Oral Hygiene, we partner with our patients to help them identify the factors that influence the health of their teeth and gums.

Our hygiene department has a strong focus on prevention of cavities and gum disease.

Whether you need a basic cleaning or gum therapy that involves deep cleaning, you will be taught how to get control of the health of your teeth and gums through proper home-care and maintenance.

Good hygiene starts with awareness of your current teeth and gums condition.

On your first visit, our hygienist will take measurements and create a chart on the status of your gums. You will be able to create a roadmap track the progress of your treatment.

Two common dental hygiene questions

What toothbrush should I use?

Since everyone’s needs are different, we would recommend using a soft bristle toothbrush and replacing it every 3-4 months. For more specific recommendations, ask your hygienist or dentist to recommend a toothbrush based on your individual needs on your next appointment.

There are some significant differences in toothpastes. Other than flavors and colors, toothpaste contains different active ingredients to help fight cavities and gum disease and other ingredients to help remove plaque and buildup.

Fluoride, the most common ingredient in commercially available toothpaste has shown to help prevent cavities. There has been recent concern about the toxicity of Fluoride in water, but there is no clear evidence of adverse effects when used as a topical ingredient in small concentrations.
